Care: Plant gladiolus corms in the spring once the soil has warmed up and after all danger of frost has passed. Select a site in full sun and well-draining soil. Enrich planting area with compost. Plant corms 4 to 5 inches deep, and 6 to 8 inches apart with pointed end facing up. For cut flowers, harvest stems just as the lowest flower buds on the stalk begin to show colour.
