Also known as scabiosa, this charming perennial produces deep blue flowers atop strong, slender stems. Plants are productive and produce flowers over a long period. An attractive addition to the garden and very useful in floral design. A favourite among pollinators.

Plant type: perennial

Height: 22-24”

Planting depth: surface sow

Exposure: full sun

Plant spacing: 12”

Approx seeds per packet: 25

How to sow:

Sow seeds indoors 8-10 weeks before last frost. Surface sow as light is required for germination. Harden off and transplant outdoors after last frost. Pinching is not necessary.

As a first year flowering perennial, plants will begin to bloom mid way through season one, and then bloom the entire season in year two. As a short lived perennial, plants require replanting every three to four years. For best vase life, harvest stems just before buds begin to open. Deadhead for continuous blooms. 110-130 days to maturity.

Please note that due to export restrictions, we are unable to ship seeds outside of Canada.
